Juan Cuadrado Marks 50th Cap In Grand-Style

On-loan Chelsea player to Juventus Juan Cuadrado marked his 50th cap for Colombia with victory today in the opening fixture of the centenary Copa America.

Cuadrado who was playing on the wing, won a several second-half free-kicks for Colombia, as his side pressed for further goals and fired one chance wide, before Colombia hit the bar in the closing minutes.

The one-time Copa America winners and quarter-finalists last year will be more than satisfied to have overcome their opponents’ home advantage, with group games against Paraguay on Wednesday and Costa Rica next Sunday to come, although they lost goalscorer Rodriguez before the end. The Real Madrid attacking midfielder came off with what appeared to be a shoulder injury.

The Colombia who has made 28 appearances for Juventus and scored four goals since he went on loan will have to use the Copa America as an opportunity to convince Chelsea new manager on his relevance in the team.
