$2billion Spent For Gold Coast Commonwealth Games-Beattie

The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games have gulped $2billion so far, this was disclosed by the Games Boss Peter Beattie who revealed this during a media reception organized for media practitioners at the Main Media Centre in Gold Coast, Australia.

Beattie also appreciated the efforts of all those who have gathered round to play their role in the planning of the event, the volunteers, financiers and of course the media. He added that the event would not have gotten to this stage if the media did not play this role.

The  Games which is expected to kick-off today with an opening ceremony expected to a viewership of 1.5 billion  around the world.

A total of 23 games will be played which will include Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Cycling – Mountain Bike, Cycling – Road, Cycling – Track, Diving, Gymnastics Artistic, Gymnastics Rhythmic, Hockey, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Para Powerlifting, Rugby Sevens, Shooting, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Triathlon, Weightlifting and Wrestling.
