Africa Skating Championship: Comrade Joseph Evah Pledges Monetary Reward For Athletes

The national President of the Roller Sport Federation of Nigeria Comrade Joseph Evah has promised monetary reward for Team Nigeria as they prepare to jet out of the country to Lome in Togo ahead of the African Skating Championship billed to hold from December 6th to 11th, 2017.

Comrade Evah who made the pronouncement during a World Press Conference at the National Stadium in Surulere Lagos, announced that Gold Medalists would get N200,000, Silver Medalists-N150,000 while Bronze-N100,000. He also added that those who do not win any medal at all during the championship would also get monetary compensation, for at least taking part in the tournament.

He charged the Sport Ministry to do the needful in recognizing Skating, since the National Olympic Committee now recognizes it and has also included it as part of the Sports for the Olympic.

He further enjoined the media to be partners in promoting Skating in Nigeria, and advised parents to also play their own role in encouraging their children to take part in other Sports.

Nigeria would compete with South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya, Tunisia, Cameroon to mention but a few in an African Championship taking place in Lome, Capital city of Togo.
