Africa’s Red Card FIFA World Cup Watch Ahead of Russia 2018 World Cup

Referee Pedro Proenca from Portugal gives Alex Song Cameroon’s 8th red in the world cup during the group A World Cup soccer match between Cameroon and Croatia

The Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup is just a few months from now, and Africa will have five representatives who will fly her flag and as much as possible try not to face serious disciplinary cases.

Of the five nations that would represent Africa at the Russia 2018 World Cup, Morocco and Egypt are the two nations that have never received a red card at the World Cup while Nigeria, Tunisia and Senegal have received one each.

Though Cameroon will not be present in Russia, but they are the only African to have received the highest number of red card cases in the FIFA World Cup with a total number of 8 cases. Alex Song got the 8th red card of her nation at the 2014 World Cup in the match against Croatia.

Croatia gave Cameroon her 8th red card at the World Cup, and interestingly Nigeria will be playing Croatia at the group stage of the Russia 2018, Nigeria must be willing to learn from Cameroon’s when they clash with the European side.
