Though the first half ended 1-0 courtesy of Theo Walcott’s strike which put Arsene Wenger’s men in the lead, but it only had to get to the second half before four more goals were scored.
Arsene Wenger’s men were more furious in the second half putting up an attack they had not done since this season, which led to goals from Giroud, Sanchez and Ramsey, while a frustrated Waterfall scored an own goal through Kieran Gibbs’ cross.
Before the match, 200 fans of Arsenal protested urging the club not to renew the contract of the 67-year-old Frenchman who had been in charge of the club since 1996.
Wenger’s contract expires by summer but he will have to justify on the need for his contract to be extended and the 5-0 win could also be a stepping stone.
