Anthony Martial Scores Late Goal To Help United Grab FA Cup Final Ticket

Louis Van Gaal’s men are through to the final of the FA Cup after Anthony Martial’s injury-time goal sent Manchester United into a record-equaling 19th FA Cup final with victory over Everton at Wembley.

Martial’s goal ensured Louis van Gaal’s side will face either Crystal Palace or Watford, with a composed finish in the dying seconds of a semi-final match filled with intrigue and suspense.

Marouane Fellaini gave United a deserved first-half lead from a close range, Everton came out attacking to grab a goal, their efforts paid off in the 56th-minute when they got a penalty, but United’s goalkeeper David de Gea rescued the team as he brilliantly saved Romelu Lukaku’s 57th-minute penalty.

Everton rallied after a passive first 45 minutes that saw them jeered off at half-time and they drew level with 15 minutes left when a deflection from Chris Smalling rolled the ball into the net.

As the game looked as if it was heading for extra-time, Ander Herrera’s poked pass sent Martial clear and the striker showed great composure to drill a low finish past Everton keeper Joel Robles.

The last time Everton won a match in all competitions was on March 12, when they defeated Chelsea. The loss also makes situation worse for Martinez whose side’s performance has dropped drastically.
