The two London rival clubs Arsenal and Chelsea clashed again at the Wembley stadium, to play the traditional season-opener match in a game that ended 1-1 in normal 90 minutes play before Gunners won through penalty shoot-out which now put the score line at 2-1.
The win is Arsenal 15th title of the Shield, and the second time in three seasons that Arsenal will be beating Chelsea to win the title.
Victor Moses opened the scoring in the at Wembley withing 60 seconds of the second-half to put Conte’s men in the driver’s seat, but they lost Pedro to a red card for a rough challenge on Mohamed Elneny before Arsenal made them pay dearly as Kolasinac headed in at the back post.
The Gunners went closest to scoring during the first-half through new signing Alexandre Lacazette, who hit the post.
Arsenal have lost skipper Per Mertesacker to injury though, with the German suffering a blow to his head
