Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hit out at his Arsenal players after their Europa League embarrassment following a defeat to Swedish side Ostersunds FK according to report .
The Gunners however progressed to the last 16 of the competition despite the 2-1 home defeat to their visitors as a first-leg 3-0 victory gave them an advantage.
However, according to Mirror Sport, club boss Arsene Wenger was not happy with his boys whom he believed did not leave up to expectation.
The source quoted the French man to say: “In the first half we were in trouble and danger because we were complacent, not focused. We were open when we lost the ball and had no ideas when we had the ball. That’s why we were in trouble,” he said.
“We prepared in a serious way. But you have external circumstances – like the fact we won the first leg 3-0 and we have a big game on Sunday – and people subconsciously think they just have to turn up to win.
“We were nowhere near good enough. And to be honest, we improved a bit in the second half, but we still weren’t good enough,” he said.
“Maybe we underestimated them a little bit, but the main thing is we are through. We know we weren’t good enough and we will accept that and move on.”
