Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has come to state that Alex Iwobi will be fined after his late night party antics.
According to earlier reports, the Nigerian midfielder was pictured in the early hours of Friday at a party where it was reported drugs were being taken before Arsenal’s FA Cup exit at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Arsenal midfielder Iwobi then had a poor game at Forest as his side crashed out on 4-2 defeat and Wenger was clearly annoyed with his player.
Mirror Sport reported that Gunners boss Wenger said: “Yes, if that is true, he will be fined. It is impossible to go out 48 hours before a game. It’s unacceptable. I will have to of course see him to see if that is right or not.
“It was not the night before the game, not was 48 hours before the game. The night before the game awe were in a hotel. But it is not acceptable and I will have to speak to him about that.
However, Mirror Sport further reported that Wenger insisted that Iwobi had not been drinking at the party and certainly not taken drugs and claimed he did not know if it affected his performance.
“Not at all. If your neighbour takes drugs, what can you do about it? you are responsible for your behaviour, not for the behaviour of your neighbour,” said Wenger.
