Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna has displaced Egyptian Omar Assar with just one point to become the best ranked African table tennis player in the world following the recent release for the month of July 2018 ITTF World ranking.
The ranking which was released yesterday on the official website of the world table tennis ruling body has Quadri moving two steps upward to be rated among the 20 best players in the world.
As at the month of June 2018, Quadri was ranked 22 but has now overtaken Assar who now drop from 17 to 21 in world ranking.
With 10234 points, Quadri has taken over from Assar who now has 10233 points in the latest ranking.
This is the second time since this year that Quadri will be breaking into the top 20 in the world ranking, having made the same spot in January 2018. He is also the first Nigerian to achieve such feat.
