Chile will be facing the most difficult task for their last 2018 World Cup qualification match as they travel on Wednesday to face Brazil, who sit on top of the CONMEBOL table and have already secured a place in Russia.
La Roja are third on the CONMEBOL table with one game left in qualifying but could finish anywhere between second and seventh, with only four points between the two places as things stand. But that will depend largely on the result of their clash with Brazil.
Brazil are unbeaten in their past four games since their CONMEBOL qualifiers, and are not likely to compromise by losing any match, despite having secured a spot in Russia next year.
Chile must either beat Brazil out-rightly to secure a spot, or be at the mercy of the outcome of result between: Peru-Colombia, Ecuador-Argentina, Paraguay-Venezuela.
The South American champions understands the importance of today’s match against Brazil and will be on top of their game to secure a spot.
