Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has described Bristol City’s 2-1 win over his side as ‘luck’ setting aside his earlier comment which he said he did not want to believe it is about luck.
The Red Devils were stunned by Lee Johnson’s side at Ashton Gate as Korey Smith struck an added time winner.
Joe Bryan had earlier fired Bristol City into the lead before a deflected free-kick from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
It set the stage for Smith’s winner, which sparked jubilant scenes on and off the pitch.
Mourinho who was quick to praise the Championship side and admitted the cup upset was a good moment for football, but also admitted elements of luck was involved.
Mirror Sport quoted the Portuguese to say “”My thoughts? My thoughts are that they were lucky. But they fought a lot to be lucky,” he said
