Cameroon Missing Athletes Causes Bad Headline, Dents Africa’s Image In Australia

Gold Coast: The story of the Cameroon missing athletes has continued to paint the image of the country and Africa black in Australia, with the incident making negative headlines in Australia.

The Courier Mail a local newspaper in Australia reports on its front page Lead Story: ” ON THE CAMERUN: OUT OF AFRICA-Hunt For Rogue Athletes, team sent home“. The tabloid further gave a report of how all athletes have been sent home due to the ugly incident, but further speculations suggests its not true.

As at press time, Sport Intelligence (www.sportintelligencemag.com)is yet to confirm the true story of the other athletes been sent home, but has sent a message across to Cameroon officials seeking to know the true story of the incident and if Cameroonian athletes are still remaining.

However, the ugly incident has further caused embarrassment to other African nations in Australia for the games, as the police have beamed their searchlights on them. Aside athletes, black Journalists are now being investigated following the incident.

It will also be recalled that about 50 fake Journalists from Ghana had earlier been sent home following an earlier incident that looked similar to that of the Cameroonians.
