Catalan Club Girona Shocks Madrid With 2-1 Defeat In Spanish League

Spanish Laliga defending champions Real Madrid suffered a shocking defeat at Catalan against Girona in a defeat that ends their unbeaten streak this season.

Isco had given Real a first-half lead by tapping in from close range to give the defending champions confidence despite the freedom chants made by the home fans.

But twice in the second-half the Catalans side stuck within an interval of four minutes to register two goals in the 54′ and 58′ minutes respectively putting the defending champions under intense pressure.

The outcome of that result means Madrid are now eight points behind Spanish league leader Barcelona, which on Saturday won 2-0 at Athletic Bilbao for its ninth victory in 10 league matches.
