Cristiano Ronaldo Wants Madrid To Win Champions League For The Third Time In A Row

Five-time Ballon d’or winner Cristiano Ronaldo believes that another Champions League success would be enough to salvage Real Madrid’s season.

Real Madrid crashed out of the Copa del Rey in midweek when they lost to a lowly rated Leganes before their home crowd at the Santiago Benebeu.

The loss means Madrid’s chance of winning a major trophy this season through the Copa del Rey has come to an end, and they are left with just the La Liga and the Champions league.

Unfortunately, Real Madrid are also 19 points adrift league leaders Barcelona and sit fourth in the table with Atletico Madrid and Valencia in second and third position respectively, this makes it practically impossible for them to get a silverware through the league.

The Champions League remains Madrid’s best hope of winning a trophy this season, and Ronaldo believes seeking a third Champions League title in a row is possible.

Ronaldo was quoted by Spanish tabloid Marca to say  “If we can win the Champions League at the end of the year, it will be an incredible year,”.

“We haven’t started well in LaLiga and we are disappointed, nobody is happy about that.

“But now we must work hard for the Champions League because it’s the most important trophy for us.”It will be difficult in LaLiga, but we can’t give up, even if we have dropped many points since the start of the season.
