Czech Republic have just defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a World Cup international friendly which was played at the Rudolf Tonn Stadium in Austria ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Tomas Kalas’ 25th minutes goal in the first half made the difference as the Super Eagles who created more chances than the European side failed to convert their chances.
All Nigerian forwards had the opportunity to showcase themselves, with Victor Moses losing a clear chance when he should have buried the ball in the net in the second half.
Kelechi Iheanacho came in for Mikel Obi in the second half, while Ahmed Musa came in for Victor Moses but their introduction did not make any positive impact in the match.
The match also exposes the weak attack of the Super Eagles team, giving Coach Gernot Rohr an opportunity to improve on the ability of the team to work on their abilities to bury the ball in the nets.
The Eagles who will be playing in group D with Croatia, Iceland and Argentina will be jetting out to Russia after the friendly ahead of the world cup proper.
