Elderson Train With Man City As Guardiola Hopes To Extend Unbeaten Record To Champions League

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has been named in team’s squad ahead of their opening Champions League group game against Feyenoord on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old Brazilian needed eight stitches after being caught in the face by a high boot from Sadio Mane during City’s 5-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday.

But the Brazilian joined in training on Tuesday wearing a headguard to protect the affected area.

Pep Guardiola who is hoping to extend his unbeaten record to the champions league said: “After the game, he saw Elderson speaking to the boys like nothing happened,”

“It shows the character he’s got. He is here now and he’s got protection. I have to speak with him tomorrow.”

Ederson could start today Wednesday but, if not, Claudio Bravo is set to deputise.
