Former Super Eagles star Wilson Oruma is yet to recover from mental illness after losing N1.2b in a fake oil business which his Pastor introduced him to according to reports.
According to New Telegraph, the former captain of the Japan 1993 U-17 Gold winning squad ventured into an oil business that was not not real in 2012, where he eventually lost all he has worked for during his hey days as a footballer.
Oruma did not do proper consultation before venturing into the business, but relied heavily on the advise of his pastor who assured him that the business associate whom he (Pastor) introduced him to were credible.
However, when the business went sour, the pastor was later reported to deny ever involving himself in any meeting with Oruma and the supposed business associates.
Hence, Oruma lost his sense of reasoning, which led to the ex-super eagles star acting in insane manner while his close friend, Emakpor had his hands and legs tied before he was taken to a church in Warri, Delta state for spiritual healing.
Further reports from Information Nigeria stated that after destroying valuables in the church, Oruma escaped to his VGC home in Lagos where he continued to disturb residents. It was also reported with his unstable mind, he gave out one of his expensive SUVs worth N14million to a friend who speedily drove away the vehicle.
The source further reported that Oruma’s kid brother, Dominic a former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles goalkeeper; said: “Wilson is recovering fast, he now recognizes his family members and he has returned to his house in VGC under the care of his wife. We are very happy about this. It was not easy seeing him suffer so much in the last two years after his money was taken away. We give God the glory for the gift of healing.
