Gerard Pique’s relationship with his international teammate Sergio Ramos is at an all-time low, according to reports in Spain.
Mirror Sport reports that the Barcelona defender has been vocal about the Catalan referendum, speaking out about the police brutality and even offering to quit Spain’s national team.
Pique was heavily booed by fans on Monday night when he turned out to train with the squad ahead of the world cup qualifiers and fans were chanting “Pique, a**ehole, leave the national team ”
Real Madrid’s Ramos has already spoken out about his Spain teammate, who he has in the past clashed with, saying: “Pique’s tweet was not the best thing to do if he doesn’t want to be booed.
Everyone is free to say what they think, although as a captain I’m always concerned about the atmosphere in the team and Pique knew what he was doing.
“Maybe it wasn’t the right time to do that and it doesn’t help a lot.”
