Great Britain Canoeing Coach Suspended Over Welfare Issues

Recent report confirms that a British Canoeing coach was suspended following a formal complain that embroiled in an athlete welfare controversy the BBC reports.

To this effect, an independent investigation was then started, and is yet to be concluded.

British Canoeing made its most successful Olympic Games performance during the Rio Olympics last year, with athletes winning two gold medals and two silvers.

Paralympics GB then claimed three golds and two bronze medals at the Rio Paralympics, where they topped the medal table.

A British Canoeing spokesperson who spoke with BBC Sport said “We can confirm that, in response to a formal complaint in December 2016, a member of our performance team has been suspended.

It was further noted that British Canoeing will henceforth cease to comment on the issue, pending when the report of the exercise is concluded
