Green House Emerge Champions To Win Prestigious Alumnus Trophy In Yaba Model School Inter-House Sport

Green House have clinched the first ever Alumnus prestigious trophy in School Inter-House Sport, donated by the 1990/1991 Set of Yaba Model Nursery and Primary school, which took place today at the school’s play-ground situated at Nathan Street, Surulere Lagos.

The prestigious trophy was presented to the champions by the chairman of the occasion Surv. Odetunmibi Olufemi, which later sparked off  jubilation and dance galore among all pupils and Teachers who worked hard to ensure their House emerged victorious.

The Green, which is a symbol of vegetation in the Nigerian flag emerged champions after winning a total of 31 medals (11 Gold medals, 10 Silver and 10 Bronze medals)in all, to finish top in an Inter-House Sports competition where four Houses competed to win the trophy.

Purple House came second position with a total of 18 medals (8 Gold, 3 Silver, 7 Bronze), Yellow House third with 21 medals (6 Gold, 11 Silver, 5 Bronze) while Blue House came fourth with 24 medals (6 Gold, 10 Silver and 8 Bronze medals).

Mr Abayomi Martins who represented the 1990/1991 Set alongside Yusuf Alabi, told Sport Intelligence that the decision to donate the trophy is in line with the Governor Ambode’s policy of “Catching Them Young In Sport”.

He also added that his colleagues will also be glad to identify with the school in other areas that is not Sports, but refused not to disclose what was next on their agenda for the school.
