For the second time Pep Guardiola has failed to beat his former club Barcelona at Camp Nou, after the Catalan side thrashed visiting Manchester City 4-0 to maintain their top position in their champions league group.
Argentine and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, played vital role in the win, scoring a hat-trick while Brazilian forward Neymar, sealed the win up earning the Catalans the maximum three points needed in the game.
Though Barcelona got a penalty after the third goal, when City’s goal keeper Bravo was issued a red card for touching the ball outside the 18-yard-box, but Neymar was unable to convert it to a goal.
Pep Guardiola’s first visit to Camp Nou since he left Spain was in 2015, while in charge of Bayern and had a date with the Catalan side in the semifinal of the champions league, but Barcelona thrashed his side 3-0.
Pep would be hoping to break the City jinx against Barcelona when the Catalan side visit Etihad stadium in their next encounter.
