“I Want To Become Nigeria’s No 1 In The Future”-Omotayo

Nigeria’s Commonwealth Games Silver medalist Omotayo Olajide has reiterated his desire to become Nigeria’s no 1 table-tennis player in the future.

The 22-year-old stated this recently in a chat with Sport Intelligence (www.sportintelligencemag.com) at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Gold Coast where he expressed joy for his silver medal.

Omotayo who noted that he will not participate in the singles championship said it is a thing of joy that he is going home with a medal in his debut at the Commonwealth Games, and will be looking up to the future where he will win more.

“I am just 22 years he stated, I have more years ahead in the future and I will have to train hard to become Nigeria’s no 1. I will also be looking forward to playing for Nigeria in the Olympics, were I will compete with big players and also win medals”.

Omotayo also reacted to an online publication on the social media which described him as not leaving up to expectations in the doubles, describing it as a story that lacks good sense of judgment and enjoined the author to be objective in their analysis.
