Japan Level Up On Points With Saudi Arabia After 2-0 Victory

Japan beat United Arab Emirates 2-0 today in the AFC 2018 World Cup qualification match go move to second position on the table, the victory makes them tie on points with Saudi Arabia who also has 13 points but top the AFC  Group B table.

It was a glorious moment for Southampton defender Yoshida, who captained the Blue Samurai for the first time in his career at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.

Yuya Kubo’s opened scoring for Japan in the first-half, giving the visitor’s a well deserved lead, before Yasuyuki Konno then scored the second goal and confirming victory on the 51st minute.

The result sees Japan remain joint top of Group B with Saudi Arabia, who saw off Thailand 3-0 earlier in the day.
