Jurgen Klopp’s Men Pound Everton 4-0 In Anfield Clash

Liverpool thrashed their visitors Everton yesterday by 4-0 at Anfield Stadium, to move to seventh position on the Premier League table after 33 matches. They trail West Ham who are sixth with 56  points, meaning that they still have one more match to play.

Origi opened scoring for Klopp’s men in 43 minutes of play, putting the home side in the driver’s seat and just before half-time, Sakho  made it two in injury time, making Liverpool to take a 2-0 lead before the break.

Situation became worse for Martinez men, when Funes Mori was shown a red card in the 50th minutes. The visitors lost the figthing spirit and Klopp’s men touched the ball around with ease, and this made it possible for Sturridge to score the third goal in the 61 minutes.

Liverpool’s third was Sturridge’s 50th goal in 87 appearances for Liverpool and it was significant because it made him the fourth-fastest Liverpool player to reach that landmark.

Courtinho completed the fourth goal for Liverpool at 76 minutes of play giving Klopp’s men total victory over their neighbour. The victory and also marks Liverpool’s 17th year of having an unbeaten record with Everton at Anfield.
