Kevin De Bruyne Rubbishes Pogba’s Comment On Manchester Derby

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has reacted to Pogba’s comment about his suspension which would make him miss the Manchester derby which comes up at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Mirror Sport reported The Manchester Evening News to say that Kevin De Bruyne wants to beat a full strength Manchester United side when City travel to Old Trafford this weekend,

The Manchester City star’s comment is in stark contrast to Reds midfielder Paul Pogba’s ‘hope’ that some Blues players would suffer injuries or suspensions.

Those controversial comments took on an air of irony when Pogba picked up a red card against Arsenal which means he will miss the derby next Sunday.

But De Bruyne dismissed the notion that karma had struck Pogba for his words – and said that he would rather play United at full strength.

Pogba once said he was hoping for City injuries

Mirror Sport reported what Pogba said that: “Some day I hope they are going to slip and I hope, and I know that it’s bad to say things like that, but I hope for us that some very important players get injured.”

Kevin De Bruyne who reacted to the situation said: “I don’t believe in that s**t, I’m a very straight forward guy,” Belgium star.

“If someone believes it is karma then OK – everyone has their right to their opinion.

“I don’t want anyone to get injured. It’s a competition, you want to play against the best teams and the best players.”

De Bruyne, asked for his response, said: “I don’t care. He can say whatever he wants. We just have to be focused on whatever we’re doing.”

But he did concede Pogba’s three-match suspension may be a blow to the Reds.

“It depends what they want to do,” he said. “He’s a massive player – I know him a little bit, and he’s unbelievable.

“He took a red card and that’s the way it goes. You have injuries and suspensions.”
