Everton manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Gylffi Sigurdsson has passed his medical ahead of a £45m move from Swansea.
Reports from The Mirror confirmed that the Icelandic international will not play on Thursday in the Europa League play-off against Hadjuk Split as he has not trained today.
Koeman who commented on this said “The latest is that he had his medical this morning. There were no problems.
“I don’t know if the paperwork is done. I saw him in the blue and normally, we will do the business today.
“We worked a long time to get this deal in and he was one of the key players to bring in. We knew we would lose Lukaku and we need players to bring in productivity.
“We need more players than one to get that number of goals and he is that type of player.
“in my opinion, in his position, he is one of the best players in the Premier League.
“I will talk to Gylfi this afternoon. He won’t be involved tomorrow. Maybe for Monday, I need to talk to him and know what his physical state is.
“Let’s wait to find out his fitness.”
