Liverpool have rejected Barcelona’s £114m bid for Brazilian player Coutinho. The upward review made by the Catalans include £80million bid plus add-ons, taking the fee to £114million.
Barcelona have seen their third offer turned down by the Merseyside club for the Reds midfielder after seeing a previous bid of £72m (rising to £90million) instantly rejected.
The Spanish giants were hoping that this latest improved offer would be enough to clinch Coutinho’s signature, but Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, are adamant he is staying at Anfield and not for sale.
Barcelona are desperate to land the signature of the 25-year-old after selling Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee.
