Liverpool are through to their first ever final of the champions league since 2017 despite losing by 4-2 to Roma in Italy, to book an appointment with back-to-back defending champions Real Madrid on May 26 at Kiev.
The Reds will be looking up to unseat the Spanish giant and grab their sixth European Champions League title at the expense of a Madrid that will be hoping to win their 13th title.
Liverpool who reached the final on a 7-6 aggregate conceded three times in the second half in Rome to record their first loss in the competition this season but Klopp and his players still had a reason to celebrate after the final whistle was blown.
Liverpool are also the first English team to reach the final of the champions league since 2012 when Chelsea reached their and won the title, and will also be looking up to do same upon their return.
Liverpool’s first ever meeting with Madrid in the champions league final was in 1981 and they emerged victorious after beating the Spanish side 1-0 to win their third European title.
They will be looking forward to end Madrid’s monopoly of the European Champions League title in Kiev.
