Madrid Thrash Stubborn Rayo Vallecano To Keep Title Race Alive

Real Madrid who were two goals down in the hands of Rayo at Estadio de Vallecas stadium, came back into the game to win by 2-3, keeping their La liga title race hope alive.

Rayo took the lead in the first half through Embarba in the 7th minute of play and in 14th minutes Fedor scored a second goal, putting the home side in a comfortable lead and keeping Zidane’s men under serious pressure. But by the 35th minutes, Gareth Bale got an assist from Kroos and converted it into a goal, leaving the scoreline to 2-1 before half time.

Upon return in the second half, Lucas Vasquez leveled up for Real Madrid in the 52nd minutes, keeping the hope of Zidane’s men alive. Serious pressure was now mounted on Rayo and it paid off in the 81st minutes when Gareth Bale scored his second and Madrid’s third goal, and that actually sealed up victory for Madrid.

Madrid went to the top of the table with 81 points, but that stay will be subject to the performance of Atletico and Barcelona who will play their matches later today.
