Manchester City have completed the signing of Portugal attacking midfielder Bernado Silva from French giants Monaco on a deal worth £43m according to reports from the BBC.
The 22-year-old Portuguese who is expected to join City on 1 July, expressed joy upon completion of the exercise as he said: “I’m now at one of the best teams in the world”.
Silva who made 58 appearances for Monaco this season scored 11 goals and made 12 assists, and he also played a key role in Monaco’s sending out of Manchester City from the champions league in the quarter final stage.
The Portuguese midfielder said the chance to work with Pep Guardiola influenced his decision to come to City.
“Of course when you have the opportunity of being trained by Guardiola, you don’t say no,” added the playmaker, who has played 12 times for Portugal, scoring once.”If not the best coach in the world, he is one of the best.”
Pep Guardiola’s City finished third in the Premier League this season, securing automatic Champions League football slot next season.
