Manchester City have signed Nigerian striker Olarenwaju Kayode from Austria Wien and have loaned him out according to report.
The 24-year-old popularly referred to as “Larry”will go straight out on loan to Serie A to Girona, where a host of other City players have moved on temporary switches.
He has signed a five-year deal with City and will spend the season on loan at Girona.
The Mirror reported that “Kayode had appeared to confirm his move to City on social media on Sunday, but his post has now been deleted”.
Manchester Evening News reported that the player’s wife also posted a picture of her husband at the City Football Academy at the weekend, before taking it down again.
Kayode was top scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga last season as Vienna finished second, and has netted 30 goals in 67 appearances for the Violets.
Kayode began his career at Red Bull Ghana but moved to Ivory Coast club ASEC Mimosas, the club which produced Yaya and Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue and Salomon Kalou as a teenager.
