Manchester United recorded their third consecutive win this season to move to the top of the premier league table with maximum three points after thrashing visiting Leicester City 2-0 at Old Trafford.
The 2-0 win makes Manchester United equal the 10 goals score margin which it last recorded since October 1907, when United recorded three straight wins of 4-1(Stoke City), 2-0 (Sunderland), 5-0 (The Wednesday), but finished 8th position on the table.
Rashford who came in as substitute in the 67th minutes broke the deadlock three minutes later, to strike in the first goal of the match. Wiping the goal-drought from United after Romelu Lukaku had earlier missed a penalty in the 53rd minutes of the match to put the host in the drivers seat.
Life was restored to Old Trafford after the first goal, and then Fellaini stuck out his knee to divert fellow substitute Jesse Lingard’s drive past Kasper Schmeichel in the 82nd minutes to seal the victory.
Manchester United remain the only team to have won all their three premier league matches this season and are yet to concede any goal, even though they conceded one goal in October 1907 when they recorded eleven goals.
