The month of April is one important month in the history of two English clubs and two Spanish clubs, it is a month in which the two clubs of Manchester were born, Manchester United and Manchester City were both founded in the month of April, but on separate days. Also in Spain, the third most successful Spanish club in European football was founded in the month of April, so is also Granada FC. Granada football club was founded on April 14,1931 as Recreativo de Granada with Julio López Fernández becoming the first President of the club. The home ground of the club is Los Carmenes which has a capacity of 23,934.After several promotions, in 1941–42 the club made its La Liga debut. From here until the ’80s, it alternated between that category and Segunda División, with its golden age coming during the ’70s, with eight top flight seasons, which included a career-best two sixth league places (1971–72, 1973–74). In 1959 Granada achieved its greatest sports landmark, being runner-up of the Copa del Generalísimo (later Copa del Royal). In the final, played at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the team lost to Barcelona 4–1.

Manchester City was born on April 16, 1894 and its home ground is the Etihad stadium which has a capacity of 55,097. City’s most successful period was in the late 1960s and early 1970s when they won the League Championship, FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup under the management team of Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison. After losing the 1981 FA Cup Final, the club went through a period of decline, leading to relegation to the third tier of English football for the only time in their history in 1998. Having regained their Premier League status in the early 2000s, the club was purchased in 2008 by Abu Dhabi United Group and has become one of the wealthiest in the world. Since 2011 the club have won five major honours, including the Premier League in 2012 and 2014. The club’s best performance in Europe was reaching the semifinal of the champions league in 2015-2016.

Manchester United was officially born on April 24, 1902 and its home ground is Old Trafford stadium with a capacity of 75,643. United is arguably one of the most successful clubs in England, having won a record of 20 League Titles, a joint-record 12 FA Cups, 5 League Cups and a record 21 FA Community Shields. The club has also won three European Cups, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, one Intercontinental Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup. In the 1998–99 season, United became the first English football club in history to win the treble of the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

Altetico Madrid was born on April 26,1903 and its home ground is Vicente Calderón Stadium which has a capacity of 54,907. Atletico is one of the Spanish clubs which have found its way to the top in Spanish football.In terms of UEFA competition titles won, Atlético Madrid is Spain’s third most successful club behind Real Madrid and Barcelona. In terms of the number of titles, Atlético Madrid is the fourth most successful club in Spanish football, behind Barcelona, Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao. Atlético have won La Liga on ten occasions, including a league and cup double in 1996; the Copa del Rey on ten occasions; two Supercopas de España and one Copa Eva Duarte; in Europe, they won the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1962, were runners-up in 1963 and 1986, were European Cup runners-up in 1974, 2014 and 2016, won the Europa League in 2010 and in 2012, won the UEFA Super Cup in 2010 and 2012, as well as the 1974 Intercontinental Cup.
