The statue of Liverpool and Egyptian forward Mohammed Salah which was unveiled on Sunday in his home town is causing lots of furor on the social media with football fans criticizing the art work heavily.
The artwork which was put on display at the World Youth Forum (WYF) which took place in Sharm al-Shekh shows the striker with his arms wide open in a celebration mood after scoring a goal.
However, people who have looked critically at the statue suggests it looks more like singer Leo Sayer or Marv the burglar from the film Home Alone.
The statue of Salah is one of the list of other sculptures in the football world that have left fans disagreeing if it actually looked like the person in question.
The statue also reminds football fans of the Cristiano Ronaldo statue which was widely mocked after it was unveiled at the Madeira airport sometime in 2017.
However, Emanuel Jorge da Silva Santos, who sculpted the bust had commented and expressed his sadness about the online criticism of his effort afterwards.
