Monaco Vs Manchester City: We Will Defend By Scoring Goals-Pep Guardiola

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has commented ahead of his sides second-leg tie in the champions league against French side Monaco.

The 45-year-old Spaniard said: “For a team like Monaco that have scored 123 goals in all competitions, the best way to attack them is to score goals”. “Sitting back to defend would be a very dangerous decision so we would go all out there to score”.

City travel to Monaco with 5-3 first-leg win advantage and would need either of an outright draw or win to progress to the quarterfinal stage while a loss may send them out of the tournament, but that would also depend on the number of goals scored in the encounter.

Pep has reached the semifinals of the champions league while in charge of Barcelona and Bayern Munich, he has got the experience needed to move the team, particularly as he is expected by his employers to move City from a second tier club in Europe.

Manchester City reached the semifinal under former boss Manuel Pellegrini, an improvement will be expected of City under Pep.
