The duo of Morocco and Tunisia have sealed a berth at the Russia 2018 Fifa World Cup after getting the necessary result that could secure them a place at the tournament which comes up next summer.
Morocco who traveled to West Africa for their final group match, got a resounding 2-0 victory against The Elephant Stadium Félix Houphouët in Boigny, Abidjan making them finish top of the Group with 12 points and four points adrift Ivory Coast.
In North Africa, it was a different show entirely as Tunisia who made a return to the World Cup after their last appearance in 1998 were forced to a goalless draw by their visitors, which eventually paid off for the team.
With the result, Tunisia now finish top of Group with 14 points and are closely followed by D.R Congo who eventually beat Guinea 3-1 and finished with 13 points but failed to qualify.
The matches played yesterday marks the end of the CAF FIFA World Cup qualifier, with Africa who have five slots now having Nigeria, Egypt, Senegal, Morocco and Tunisia to represent them at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
