NBF Crises: Popoola Tells Aggrieved Parties To Allow NOC Intervene

The secretary general of Nigeria Olympic Committee Tunde popoola, has told the public that the NOC are not keeping quiet as regards the ongoing crises going on in the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBF).

Popoola stated without mincing words that it is the constitutional responsibility of the of the Olympic body to intervene, and the NOC are willing to do that provided the parties involved are ready to heed to their advise.

He added that although a lot of people feel the NOC are feeling less concerned about the ongoing chaos and emergence of faction groups in the Nigeria Basketball Federation, but the fact remains that the Olympic body are saddled with that responsibility of intervening.

Popoola who said this during an interview session at the NOC 2017 AGM held in Lagos, said that the conflict did not just appear, but has been going on for a while before it got to its present level.

He also applauded the Hon. Minister of Sports- Solomon Dalung for being unbiased on the issue, and his quest to ensure that constitutional provisions are followed in resolving the crises.

Meanwhile, Popoola further informed that the international Basketball body (FIBA) will be sending some delegates to Nigeria by March 2018, to join NOC and intervene on the matter.

He concluded by saying that all will eventually get better with sports in Nigeria.
