Nigeria Should Have Appealed That The Men’s Final Against India Be Shifted-Official

Nigeria’s men team lost to India 3-0 in the finals of the Table-tennis team’s event with the game taking place barely a few hours after Nigeria beat England to reach the final.

But a top official at the games who spoke to Sport Intelligence (www.sportintelligencemag.com) after the game revealed that the Nigerian team should have appealed that the game be shifted to the next day.

The umpire who spoke on grounds of anonymity observed that Nigeria had a hectic game playing in the semifinal where they beat England to reach the final, and did not have enough rest before playing India in the final, while India who beat Singapore had ample time to rest before the final.

The official also said it was a decision that should have been taken by the technical team of Nigeria and file an appeal, perhaps that should have also given Quadri Aruna enough time to rest and probably taken part in the final the official added.
