The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has finally secured a house in Lagos to enable her carry out all activities of the federation on full time basis. The “Rugby House” which shall also double as the secretariat is a prerequisite from the International body called the World Rugby.
The development was contained in a release made available to Sport Intelligence recently in Lagos, by the president of the federation Mr. Kelechi Mbagwu, who disclosed that the Federation is now ready to take the game to Nigerians.
The source further disclosed, that having secured the “Rugby House” the next step is to work on gathering data base of all Rugby Personnel in Nigeria, their programs and activities with the main aim of ensuring that accurate data and statistics is put in place which shall help in monitoring of legion of foreign professionals.
Furthermore, Nigeria Rugby will now have an opportunity to host an International Rugby event this year, after series of efforts to host an event since 2008/2009 has proved abortive due to her not meeting the requirement of the international body.
However, it is yet to be resolved if Nigeria will host the Rugby Africa Women 7’s in May or the Men category in October 2018.
