The Nigeria Surfing Federation will take part in the 2018 International Surfing Association (ISA) SUP and Paddle board championship billed to take place in Brazil later in the year.
This was the latest communicated to Nigerians by the president of the Nigeria Surfing Federation (NSF) Adewale Fawe, who disclosed this to news men recently in Lagos, and also informed that Nigeria have athletes who will be participating in the event.
Fawe who had earlier called for youths participation in the sport, also told news men that Nigeria is currently meeting up with the requirements of the NOC and IOC to enable her also take part in the 2020 Olympics scheduled to host in Tokyo, Japan.
It was also revealed by the Surfing boss, that the NSF has concluded plans to have international bodies visit Nigeria in March this year, to commence training workshop for amateur and professional athletes who wish to develop more on their skills in Surfing, and the programme is also open for those who have passion for the sport.
Adewale also appealed for corporate sponsorship and partnership in the events to enable the Nigeria Surfing Federation become more relevant and financially stable in the sport.
