Nigeria Vs Zambia: Super Eagles Should Invoke France 1998 World Cup Qualification Style

Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to take on the Chipolopolo of Zambia in a crucial Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier match which takes place in Uyo on Saturday October 7.

Though the Super Eagles are at home, they will be under pressure to beat their visitors and qualify before final day of match.

The last time the Super Eagles qualified before last day of match was during the France 1998 World Cup qualifier after beating Kenya 3-0 in Nigeria to qualify but eventually lost by 1-0 to Guinea in Conakry.

However, Zambia who are yet to qualify for their first ever Fifa World Cup will be hoping to do everything possible and get a win in Nigeria to level on points with Nigeria, and wait till final day of match to determine who will qualify from the group.

Since the Super Eagles sealed a World Cup ticket after five matches in France 1998, all other World Cup qualifications in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014 have been secured on final day of the match
