The various Sports federations in Nigeria has been charged to embark on an administration that shows Transparency, Good governance, Accountability, effective management and athletes development from the grassroots level.
The charge was recently made by the Secretary-General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) during the Anuual General Meeting of the NOC recently in Lagos.
Popoola also noted that though enthusiasm is part of Sport growth, but the technical, administrative and professional aspect of it entails one applying the rules of the constitution in order to achieve a long lasting development that will help the future of Sports in Nigeria.
He also reminded members of the Sports federation present that they are NGOs and are not supposed to allow government interference in their activities, hence, they should also seek for sponsorship to enable them have enough funds and become financially balance.
He further noted that they should harness the funds realized to raise and develop young talents from the grassroots by provision of adequate facilities for athletes.
