Paul Pogba, who returned to Manchester United in a world-record transfer fee of £89m from Juventus in August, is yet to make United enjoy the sum invested on him.
The French player was heavily criticized in United’s away loss to Feyenoord in Holland, for lacking the quality to drive the team when needed. Pogba played alongside Ander Herrera and Morgan Schniederlin in the midfield against Feyenoord, and this was supposed to allow him get freedom to display his attacking prowess.
The 23-year-old France international was nowhere to be found in the first half, as he did not show the urgency on the need for United to win the match, as this further probes if he is indeed worth the huge sum splashed on him during the transfer.
In the second half, he pushed forward up the pitch, appeared a bit more threatening and attempted two long-range shots from outside the 18-yard-box, which confidently went off target, he lacked the quality to break through the Dutch side’s defence.
