Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has guided his side to their 18th consecutive premier league win after beating their host 1-0 at Newcastle.
The win means Manchester City have set a new record of becoming the first premier league club to accomplish such feat and have gone 15 points adrift Manchester United after 20 premier league games.
City boss who spoke after the match was reported by BBC Sport to say “We did absolutely everything but it is difficult to play when the other team doesn’t want to play,”.
“In the last minutes we played in their rhythm and then it was not easy because it is not over at 1-0 – we created enough chances to win 2-0, 3-0, 4-0.
The win practically means Manchester City are not competing with any team in the title race and are all in a world of their own, only Manchester City can decide to lose the league if they so wish.
The only time Manchester City dropped points in the premier league this season was against Everton in August, when they played a 1-1 draw.
On a personal note, Pep Guardiola will now be contending with his 19 consecutive wins which he achieved while in charge at Bayern Munich when he travels to Crystal Palace on New year eve to seek his 19th consecutive win against Palace.
