PRESS RELEASE: Sport Minister Gets FOI ACT Request On How N3million Was Spent Per Day At Gold Coast Commonwealth Games

This is to officially inform the general public that the Nigerian Sport Minister Barr. Solomon Dalung has been given an FOI Act request, seeking to get further details on how the sum of N3million was spent per day at the just concluded Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

This is sequel to a publication by www.vanguardngr.com dated February 25, 2018 in which the Sports Ministry claimed to spend N3m per day for camping.

The FOI Act Request presented to the Sport Minister, further craved to know the breakdown of the N1.8b budgeted for the games and how much each athletes, officials and members of the Sport Minister’s entourage got during the period of the games.

The FOI Act request further craved to know a detailed list of members of the Sport Minister’s entourage and how much was spent for their lodging in a hotel at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Sport Intelligence (www.sportintelligencemag.com) invoked Sections 1, 2 (1) (3) (V), 2(3) 31 of the Freedom of Information Act to make the request
