Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna is among the seeded players expected to feature today in Hong Kong Open in the ongoing ITTF World Tour holding at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hing Kong.
Quadri was among the best Table Tennis players in the world who are hoping to overturn the table by seeking honours and ranking when the championship kicks off in the Asian City.
The Portuguese based Nigerian player who recently claimed the Portuguese league with Sporting is seeded 13th while Egypt’s Omar Assar has been seeded sixth and home boy – Ting Chun Wong is the number one seed.
Quadri and other 15 seeded players will start their campaign today May 24 while the qualifiers began two days ago on May 22.
Quadri who last represented Nigeria at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games said he is hoping to finish among the best in the event. “I will try my best to do well and I hope my best will see me through because this is an assembly of the crème-de-la-crème in the world of Table Tennis,” he said.
