Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that his son’s love for football makes it difficult to get him to sit down at the dinner table for meals.
According to Mirror Sport the star’s mum Dolores Aveiro once claimed her clean-living son was addicted to football.
His godfather Fernao Sousa said he loved the game so much as a boy on his native island of Madeira that he would miss meals or escape out of his bedroom window when he was supposed to be doing his homework.
The 32-year-old Ronaldo appeared to admit history was repeating itself in an exclusive interview published today in Spain as he confessed getting his eldest son Cristiano Jnr, seven, to stop playing with a ball was often a problem.
Glossy Spanish magazine Hola, publishing the interview it said was done by its English version Hello Magazine, quoted the footballer as saying: “He loves football and he plays all the time.
“Often it’s difficult to get him to sit down and have dinner because he’s always outside kicking a football.
It will be recalled that in April 2007 during an interview after Cristiano signed for Man United, his mum Dolores Aveiro said: “His only addiction is football.”
