Samuel Eto’o Is Having A Funfilled Football Career

Former Cameroon national team captain Samuel Eto’o Fils is indeed having fun with his football career following a recent move to Qatari league where he rejoins former club mates Xavi and Sneidjer.

The 37-year-old who left Turkish club Konyaspor by mutual consent earlier this month is set to explore the oil-rich Qatar nation who are also planning to host the World Cup in 2022.

Eto’o who is Africa’s most decorated footballer have not had any reason to be clubless at any point in his career, he has always been busy moving from one club to another and ensuring he is making himself happy.

At 37, one would have thought that Samuel Eto’o would be considering announcing retirement from club football, but the four-time African footballer of the year proved lots of people wrong with his recent move to Qatari club.

It would be difficult for someone to continue with a sporting career he is not enjoying, and the recent move to Qatar club is an indication that the Cameroon star is indeed enjoying his football career and is not ready to let go so soon.

No African player has had an opportunity to play in 13 different clubs during their hey days, but Eto’o whom was seen as a coach-player in his last club in Turkey suddenly returned to playing and abandoning the idea of coaching which seemed to be the more promising as viewed by fans when he moved to Turkey.

Eto’o who played in Spain, Italy, Russia, England, China and now in Qatar was at some time faced with challenges emanating from him being racially abused, but he did not in any way allow that discourage him from continuing his quest of having fun with a profession which he enjoyed doing. He was consistent focused and determined and for his sake, the referee once stopped a match¬†after just three minutes of play, to give a warning to some Cagliari fans who were singing racist chants towards Eto’o while in Italy.

In fact, it even more difficult to ascertain what could become of Samuel Eto’o when he finishes with Qatari club. A friend just said this to me, “It is possible that Eto’o could come and play in the Nigeria Premier League when he finish with Qatar”
