About 10,000 Irish and supporters of the UFC champ McGregor have arrived Las Vegas City for the eagerly-awaited clash at the T-Mobile Arena between the Irish and Mayweather.
Following the current situation, security has beefed-up after organizers pondered on the car-ramming terrorism in Barcelona and Cambrils, which left 15 dead, has fuelled concerns of a copycat attack.
The Mirror reports that there will be increased patrols on the Strip and the T-Mobile Arena, while more than 5,000 hotel staff will be asked to report any suspicious behaviour.
The Sun reports that Sgt Jeff Clark, from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, told Mirror.co.uk: “We are constantly evaluating the ever changing world climate and learning from events, such as Barcelona and London.
“There will be a very visible police presence.”
He revealed they are staffing more than 100 special events, most of which are related to the fight, and hundreds of off-duty officers are working overtime.
